A tragic accident in September claimed the life of Mackenzie “Kenz” Mason leaving the Hamilton Victoria community devastated.
21 year old Mackenzie’s death has left friends and loved ones stunned and heartbroken. She was a very gifted netball player but that wasn’t just all she was, she was the girl with a wide smile, the one who always supported those around her.
In 2019, with the help of Mackenzie, her team the Hamilton Kangaroos won the Under-15 premiership, remembering her energy, dedication and love for the sport. When she wasn’t working on the court she loved listening to music and filling rooms with her wonderful singing voice.
Graduating from Monivae college in 2022, friends she made there say she was a very gentle soul who people naturally attracted towards for her ability to lift others in tough days. Tributes have been coming from all over on social media with teammates say she was “the heart of the team” among others
