President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday welcomed his old friends, former governors who started Nigeria’s Fourth Republic with him in 1999, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. It was a heartfelt reunion, full of handshakes, smiles, and shared memories.

The leaders, including Donald Duke, James Ibori, Lucky Igbinedion, and others, discussed Nigeria’s future, national unity, and how they could still help shape the country’s progress.

Tinubu, who governed Lagos from 1999 to 2007, expressed happiness to see his old colleagues. The Class of ’99 is widely seen as the foundation of modern Nigerian democracy.
