In a sad piece of news, a vehicle crash ended the life of Edward Leon Gilbert. This tragedy happened on Wednesday, the 16th of July, 2025, around 5 pm.
Edward was a 62-year-old man, came from Equality, Alabama. Per authorities, the deceased was driving his 2015 Chevrolet Impala when he unfortunately lost control of the vehicle, the vehicle left the road, and crashed, causing his death.
His vehicle crashed into a tree along Alabaa Highway 22. Per authorities, this tragic incident happened near the 99-mile marker, which is about 3 miles east of Rockford.
Authorities also report that the deceased, upon his death, was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead upon the arrival of first responders.
At the time of writing this article, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has initiated an investigation, and no further details have been tendered at this time.
