The town of El Cerrito, California, is very sad after a tragic accident. Early Friday morning, just before the sun came up, a 57-year-old woman was crossing Eastshore Boulevard. A driver in a maroon car hit her while she was walking in the middle of the block.
Firefighters and paramedics rushed to help her right away. They tried very hard to save her life. Sadly, she passed away at the scene.
The driver stayed to help the police and answered their questions. The woman’s name is private until her family is told.
Neighbors say this road is very dark and dangerous. They are now asking for better streetlights and safer crosswalks to keep everyone safe.
