The Pittsburgh community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Bryon Lewis.
He was a 36-year-old man who was remembered as a naturally funny person who could relieve tension in the room with just a joke.
Lewis lost his life on Monday at a local hospital after getting shot on Friday morning at a house on Omega Court in East Liberty.
Friends still cannot believe the news, especially some of them who had not seen him in years but still loved him deeply.
First responders got to him around 1 am on Friday.
They found Lewis in front of the home in an unresponsive state with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Bryon was rushed to the hospital, where he was in critical condition, but he never recovered.
Authorities say they believe that an argument inside the house preceded the shooting.
Despite how serious this case is, the culprit has not been arrested.
Those who loved him say he was gifted with humor and kindness, someone who could brighten the darkest days.
“He was like a brother… he always made me laugh,” one friend shared in an emotional tribute.
Investigations are still ongoing as friends and neighbors are begging for answers. The violence surrounding the demise of Bryon Lewis is a reminder of how fleeting life is.
