The community of Pittsburgh is mourning the tragic death of ex-UNH Wildcat and cherished Pittsburgh member, Christopher “Chris” Jeannot.
The unexpected news of his death came as a shock to his family, friends, and teammates, who remember him for his ready smile and gift of making everyone feel appreciated.
Growing up in Pittsburgh, Chris became famous at the University of New Hampshire for his diligence, devotion, and consistency.
Those who were close to him tell stories of how he mentored young players, encouraged people during difficult training sessions, and brought happiness to all huddles and locker rooms.
His friends all say that he had a unique ability to light up any room he walked into. He was either joking around, consoling, or just being there for people, making them feel recognized.
Chris’s death has left an emptiness in the Pittsburgh community and also the UNH football family. Those who loved him grieve as they share stories of his benevolence, wit, and loyalty.
His family requests that he be remembered in the community for the same compassion he showed to people unconditionally.
