The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) has repaired a dangerous manhole on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way after its cover was stolen by vandals.
The agency first did a quick fix on Saturday night before installing a stronger concrete solution on Sunday.
Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, described the rising theft of manhole covers as “alarming,” warning that vandals are putting lives at risk.
General Manager Engr. Tokunbo Ajanaku revealed that over 4,000 covers have been stolen across Lagos. He urged residents to help protect public infrastructure, calling the vandals “enemies of safety.”
