The community is mourning the loss of retired Army Chief Warrant Officer Danny Floyd Hite Sr., who passed away on April 30, 2026. Born at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, his life was deeply defined by his dedicated military service, adventurous spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Danny proudly served his country through multiple overseas military tours. He also worked as a dedicated drill sergeant, where he helped guide and train young soldiers. His travels allowed him to embrace new cultures and experiences; while stationed in Korea, he developed a passion for karate and actively competed. Following his retirement from the Army, Danny continued his professional career as a federal contractor and traveled widely.
Outside of his service, Danny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. He developed his love for nature at an early age and remained a proud Eagle Scout throughout his life. He also embraced his creative side, sharing fond memories of participating in community theater alongside his wife, Bonnie, while the couple lived in Germany.
Above all, Danny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His loved ones will forever remember him not only as a highly decorated veteran, but as a man who deeply valued loyalty, laughter, and the precious time he spent with those closest to him.
