Legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as K1 De Ultimate), has broken his silence over the recent incident at the Abuja airport, saying reports about his behaviour were false and exaggerated.
The drama began on Tuesday when a misunderstanding occurred while K1 was about to board a ValueJet flight.
The situation led to the suspension of ValueJet pilots, with some reports claiming the Fuji star caused the commotion by acting unruly and carrying alcohol onboard.
However, in a statement released by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, K1 denied all the claims.
He explained that the drink in question was simply plain water given to him at the airport lounge, not alcohol as was widely reported.
“At no point did K1 misbehave or break any safety rule,” the statement read. “He tried to explain himself, but the situation was blown out of proportion.”
According to K1’s team, top officials from the airport and the airline even apologised and offered him a private jet to Lagos at no cost, an offer he politely refused.
The statement also suggested that the now-suspended pilot might be shifting blame to protect herself.
It urged the public not to jump to conclusions and allow the truth to guide their opinions.
K1 insists he is a law-abiding citizen who respects aviation rules and expects a fair and respectful resolution of the matter.
