Drama has hit the music scene after Kaestyle, label mate to Omah Lay, claimed that the singer’s manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, was actually sacked and didn’t resign as he said.
Awoniyi had earlier posted on X (Twitter) that he was no longer managing Omah Lay, wishing him well in a calm, respectful message.
But soon after, Kaestyle tweeted:
“Dem sack you, you say I’m no longer… lol always quick to go on social media.”
This made fans believe the breakup wasn’t as peaceful as it seemed.
Awoniyi fired back, saying he only managed Omah Lay to help him escape a “slave deal” with KeyQaad, the label Kaestyle is also signed to. He called Kaestyle a “slave” still stuck in a bad contract.
Omah Lay, however, didn’t take sides. Instead, he praised Awoniyi:
“The most intelligent guy I’ve met in the game… love you forever my blood.”
It’s also rumoured that Omah Lay has left KeyQaad and is starting his own label called Boy Alone.
This drama has exposed deep issues in Nigeria’s music industry, where artists are speaking out more about bad deals and gaining their freedom.
