The Windber, Pennsylvania community is mourning the death of 18-year-old Lilah Grace Andrews. She passed away at her home on January 3, 2026.
Lilah was a senior at Windber Area High School, where she was highly involved in both academics and athletics. She was a member of the National Honor Society and several other student organizations, including the LEO Club and student council.
A talented athlete, she participated in basketball, track and field, and cross country, and also served as the videographer for the varsity soccer team.
Friends and teachers remember Lilah as a gentle and steady presence. She was an altar server at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church and was known for her willingness to help others, whether by working at school concession stands or performing school maintenance.
Her small, thoughtful acts—like remembering names and listening closely—made a lasting impact on those around her.
Lilah is survived by her parents, John and Melissa, and her sister, Mariah. A funeral mass was held at her church, where the community gathered to honor her memory.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the compassion she shared with her town.
