The community of Rock Hill experienced a grieving moment when they heard about the loss of an 18-year-old, Tyjah Brevard, who was shot dead on Friday morning at an apartment complex on Eden Terrace.
Local officials said the gunfire started around 12:38 in the morning, which left Tyjah severely wounded and a 20-year-old man fighting for his life.
By the time the authorities arrived, Tyjah was already on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, the emergency officials had to rush him to the hospital but could not survive while the second victim was in a critical condition and the name is yet to be released by the officials.
Relatives described him as a young man full of prospects and was starting to shape his future while his peers said he had a gentle laugh and a habit of making people feel safe around him. His loss left many in unbelief.
Authorities have established that the case is being considered as a homicide. There has been no clues or motives released and the police are begging anyone who noticed anything near the 2300 block of Eden Terrace to come meet them.
The community continues to mourn while some sympathize with them on social media and offer prayers to the deceased family. The Police department will release more information as they keep investigating.
