Weeks after its release, the Nollywood film Abanisete continues to pack cinemas across Lagos. The movie, which premiered on August 15, continues to draw large audiences, with many fans praising its unpredictable storyline and exciting cast.
On Sunday, Silverbird Cinemas at Ikeja City Mall was filled to capacity as eager movie lovers turned out to watch the film. Some viewers even shared how they struggled to find seats because of the crowd, showing just how popular the movie has become.
Directed by Itele D Icon, Abanisete has generated a strong buzz online, building on the success of his earlier project Koleoso, which pulled over 36 million views on YouTube.
The movie combines action, comedy, and suspense, but what really thrilled fans was its shocking twist at the end. Audience members were heard clapping and cheering as the final scenes played out. The film also featured surprise appearances from several popular actors, actresses, and even skit makers, which added to the excitement.
According to FilmOne Entertainment, Abanisete grossed over ₦102 million in its first three weeks, ranking as Nigeria’s number one Nollywood movie for three weekends in a row.
With the film’s success, Itele has already announced his next project, Koleoso Part 6, Season 2, giving fans more to look forward to.
