Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, along with her teammates Ifeoma Onumonu, Ashleigh Plumptre, Michelle Alozie, and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, visited South Africa’s player Salgado at the Mohamed VI Hospital. The Nigerian team brought her a signed Super Falcons jersey as a symbol of support and kindness.

Salgado had to be carried off the field during the second half of South Africa’s 2-1 win over Nigeria on Tuesday. She had surgery on Wednesday and is now under medical care. Sadly, the 27-year-old midfielder is expected to be out for the rest of the year due to the serious injury.

The Banyana Banyana team also visited Salgado later that night after her condition improved, showing great solidarity. This kind gesture from the Super Falcons highlights the true meaning of sportsmanship and respect beyond the game.
