The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has officially arrived in Ibadan ahead of his coronation rites.
He got into the ancient city on Monday at about 1:20 p.m. and went straight to his family house at Isale-Osi in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
Family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to welcome him warmly.
Upon arrival, special prayers were offered for him in both Islamic and Christian traditions, symbolizing unity and blessings as he prepares to ascend the throne.
After the prayers, Oba Ladoja is expected to retire to his Bodija residence later in the day.
Sources confirmed that he will soon begin the traditional rites required before his formal installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
It will be recalled that on Monday, August 4, 2025, the Olubadan-in-Council unanimously nominated Oba Ladoja during a meeting held at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
Although the designate was absent at the meeting, the motion for his nomination was moved by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded by the Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole.
Speaking at the meeting, Oba Ajibola noted that the Council would forward Ladoja’s name to Governor Seyi Makinde for official approval, in line with tradition and state procedures.
The arrival of Oba Ladoja has sparked jubilation across Ibadan as residents eagerly await the coronation of a leader many describe as a respected elder statesman and a man of the people.
His installation as the 44th Olubadan marks a significant moment in the history of Ibadanland, blending tradition, leadership, and community pride.
