A man was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday evening after a serious accident at the Liverpool Roundabout, inward Creek Road, in Apapa, Lagos.
The crash, which happened around 8 PM, involved a fully loaded Mack truck and a Mikano ZNA pickup.
Officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the truck suffered a brake failure, leading to the collision.
The impact was heavy, and one man sustained injuries. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
An empty container also fell from a truck during the accident, causing a temporary roadblock.
Though traffic had resumed from Liverpool Bridge to the roundabout by 10 PM, authorities were still waiting for a crane to remove the fallen container.
LASTMA officers remained at the scene to control traffic and ensure safety. Residents and drivers around the area have been advised to stay alert and drive carefully.
This accident is the latest in a string of crashes around Lagos caused by brake failure. Many are now calling for stricter checks on heavy trucks to prevent more avoidable injuries and road chaos.
