Kelvin Bennett was one of those individuals who brought stability to life.
But that life was brought to a tragic end Monday evening in a fatal crash that occurred on Route 40 in Aberdeen.
The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. on December 15 on South Philadelphia Boulevard, a road known for its evening rush of traffic.
According to reports by the police, a collision involving two cars brought the response of the police and emergency services to the location.
Bennett was 70 and living in Ellicott City at the time of the accident and was riding as a passenger in the Nissan Maxima that crashed.
The driver of the vehicle driven by Bennett, a man in his early sixties, was seriously injured and taken to UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
The other driver, a 23-year-old man, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by medevac and is listed as a critical patient.
People who know Kelvin Bennett have described him as a calm, kind, and always-helpful person.
He was a family-loving person who liked doing all kinds of mundane things, as he did not like attention.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still studying the accident, and no charges have yet been filed.
With the flow of traffic returning to normal, the loss of the presence of Kelvin Bennett is sorely missed.
