A tragic domestic incident in Montgomery County, Texas, has left a quiet neighborhood deeply shaken. Authorities have officially charged 57-year-old military veteran Stanley Earl Hardin with capital murder.
The victims of this fatal shooting were his estranged wife and her mother. Officials stated the couple had recently separated, prompting the wife to move into her mother’s home on Shoreview Drive.
Investigators believe the deadly situation escalated very quickly. Around 2 p.m., Hardin allegedly drove his vehicle directly into the residence. His wife managed to call 911 twice. She first called to report the vehicle crash and then called back as the danger approached. Tragically, both women were shot and found dead inside the house.
After the shooting, Hardin fled the scene, causing widespread fear across the local area. Deputies eventually tracked him to his own home on Ivy Lane. Authorities anticipated a tense standoff. However, Hardin surrendered peacefully to law enforcement after speaking with a family member.
The investigation remains ongoing. Meanwhile, shocked community members are struggling to understand how this domestic situation turned into such a devastating event.
