The silence on downtown’s Dawson Street in Waterloo was shattered Sunday afternoon by flashing lights and sirens.
Within a humble dwelling on the 400 block resided the lifeless body of Drew Janssen.
He was a 44-year-old man whose unexpected passing has left community members in confusion and concern.
Police and fire departments were called at about 4:15 p.m.
When they arrived on scene, a routine call turned quickly desperate.
Janssen was found and pronounced dead. The authorities are now working on a case of homicide.
The identity of any suspect has not been made public. There is also no information on the cause of death.
