The Cullman community is mourning the sudden passing of 36-year-old father, Robert Nerovich. A man from Hanceville who died in a violent accident on I-65 early Wednesday morning.
Robert’s Ford E-350 hit a 2026 Freightliner truck around the Dodge City exit, which is a part of the interstate with a reputation for heavy commuter traffic, a little after 6 a.m.
Emergency responders tried to save him working as fast as they could but he succumbed to his injuries.
On an ordinary morning, Robert said goodbye to his family with kisses on his way to work, not knowing it would be his last.
Nerovich was described as a loving husband to his wife and a doting father to his three children.
He was hardworking and gentle. Neighbours remember how helpful he was, helping with a broken fence or checking on people with a smile.
His sudden passing left his community shaken with grief, sharing memories of his compassion and stability.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, even as loved ones focus on being there for his family, helping them through the grief.
They created a fundraiser to help with the finances as they go through the dark times coming.
