
Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, fought hard to beat Senegal 75–68 and secured a spot in the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket final.
The thrilling match took place on Saturday at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Côte d’Ivoire.
Senegal started strong, leading 11–2 in the first few minutes and holding an 8-point advantage going into the final quarter. However, the Nigerian women showed their resilience, outscoring Senegal by 7 points in the final stretch to clinch the win.
D’Tigress are now aiming to make history by winning five consecutive Women’s Afrobasket titles.
They will face the winner of the Mali vs. South Sudan semi-final in the final.
