A Lagos Magistrate Court in Ikorodu has ordered a DNA test on the late singer Mohbad’s two-year-old son, Liam Aloba.
The court issued the directive on Tuesday, following a request from Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.
The ruling, delivered by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga, came after Joseph Aloba filed an application for the test, seeking confirmation of Liam’s paternity.
Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was named as the respondent in the case.
As per the court’s decision, two DNA tests will be conducted: one in Nigeria and the other abroad. Both tests will be carried out in accredited and recognized hospitals.
The presence of both parties or their representatives will be required during the sample collection.
The ruling comes after public discussions regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and the paternity of his son, Liam.
This DNA test is aimed at clarifying legal and family matters related to Mohbad’s estate.
The case has garnered attention, with many following the developments closely. The court has adjourned the case to November 11, 2025, for further proceedings.
Mohbad’s sudden death has left his family and fans devastated, and this legal matter adds another layer to the ongoing grief. The outcome of the DNA test will be crucial for Liam’s future and his rightful place within the Aloba family.
