The world of golfing is in mourning over the sudden loss of Cody “Beef” Franke, a rising Barstool Sports Star who was popular for his love of the game, his kindred and humorous spirit. Franke died over the weekend whilst attending a wedding in the Dominican Republic after what family members described as a “Sudden medical emergency.”
Cody had previously worked as a PGA professional and head golf instructor in Wisconsin before making his move into Barstool. Fans loved and appreciated him for his gentle smile and the way his golf style made the game even more fun. His ‘Beef’ nickname matched his larger-than-life personality to the letter.
Barstool founder Dave Portnoy has even called him “one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever meet” among many influential people who have praised Cody for how he made every experience special.
