The Thomasville community is mourning the loss of 61-year-old Jesse Floyd Jackson.
A man many describe as the quiet backbone of his family, his church, and the place he called home.
Jackson passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at University Hospital in Mobile.
He left behind a legacy cemented in kind acts, faith, and steady devotion.
Family members said his final days were as calm and dignified as the way he had lived.
Friends remember small moments that defined him, the way he always showed up early to help at church, how he listened more than he spoke.
His gentle laugh was saved for the people he loved most.
The Thomasville native spent much of his life as a crane operator.
Colleagues say he didn’t command respect because of a title, but through the way he treated other people.
“If Jesse said he’d be there, he was there,” shared one colleague.
At home, he was a loving husband, the proud father of four daughters, and a grandfather who never passed up an opportunity to make a child smile.
Family say he taught through example, showing his children the value of honesty, hard work, and kindness.
A visitation will be held on December 13 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.
This will be followed by a funeral service for family, friends, and the community that loved him.
Jesse’s memory lives on through the people he lifted, the faith he lived by, and the quiet strength he gave so freely.
