Korean Restaurants in Abuja
If you’re still trying to find a local spot to eat some bibimbap, gochujang-glazed wings, or kimbap rolls, look no further. Here are five Korean restaurants in Abuja where you can eat, slurp, and devour to your heart’s content.
1. Chi Thai Revolution Restaurant
Chi Thai Revolution is not your usual kind of restaurant— first, you walk into what seems like a delightfully strange residence, and you suddenly realize you are in the midst of a cultural Asian experience right in the middle of Maitama. The homey feel gives you that familiar feeling like visiting a cool friend who has traveled the world and can craft a wicked Asian inspired dish. A cozy but open seating area greets you when you walk outside, and the service? Chef’s kiss.
Now to the food, Chi Thai takes Korean-inspired flavours very seriously. Nothing can prepare you for their beef galbi. Sweet and salty marinated short ribs grilled to tenderness and caramelization. The glaze (made from soy, garlic, and sesame) clings to the outside of the ribs like a second skin, and that signature, smoky comfort of Korean BBQ.
The gochujang BBQ chicken deserves its own labeling system for the purely delicious and addictiveness it brings, Spicy, sticky, a little bit of sweetness, and unbelievable flavor.
If you love seafood, you are going to want the pajeon seafood pancake. Crispy outside, with a ton of squid, shrimp, and green onions inside, it’s not a pancake you pour syrup on, you go right into it with your fork and knife. You are also getting your California rolls sushi and sashimi combo, which is a nicely fresh and warm starter.
Location: 15 Rhine Street, Maitama, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Budget: From 20,000+ per person
2. Uncle T’s
Uncle T’s is undeniably one of the coolest hangouts in the real Abuja. And no, we are not just saying that because of the open cocktails or lovely lakeside views. But before you jump to a conclusion about the type of restaurant it is, Uncle T’s is a fusion-style restaurant. It has a fun setting, delicious food that will brighten anyone’s day, and a creative and fun menu that features a blend of global flavors (yes, including Korean flavour).
So if you are not ready to go full Korean food, Uncle T’s is a delicious way to start. Korean glazed chicken Wings – that was a dream made of. Crispy and juicy on the inside, the gochujang spicy-sweet glaze that the wings are coated in, the gochujang wings at Uncle T’s give you just the right amount of heat, umami, and tang, making you want more. This is a perfect pick for happy hour, which makes a great combo, with an ice-cold mixed drink and great people. If you go on All-you-can-eat days, go crazy, sample all that is set in front of you, and you may fall in love with Korean-style fried chicken, and once you do fall in love, don’t fight it, it’s over.
Location: 51 Alex Ekwueme Way, Opposite Jabi Lake, Jabi, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Budget: From 20,000+ per person
3. Gusto Abuja
Don’t be fooled by Gusto Abuja’s chic modern decor and heavy Italian influences; this restaurant has a Korean and Asian flair in general and is exceedingly tasteful. What I really enjoyed about Gusto was that while they seemed to merge culinary traditions, it didn’t come off as forced— somehow it felt honest and elevated.
While they do not have an extensive menu of Korean options, the few dishes that they do have are outstanding. Their spicy chicken drumsticks are one of those fusion dishes that get a standing ovation. Picture juicy drumsticks, char-grilled and generously basted in a sauce that is an equally brilliant fusion of gochujang along with Nigerian-style peppers and herbs.
If you want to dive into the waters at Gusto, their grilled jumbo prawns are served with a lively lemon ginger sauce that accompanies the tender, juicy prawns beautifully. Not in the traditional sense, these are not an Asian fare, but the flavor profile is bold, with umami to spare, and the whole experience is upscale, making it easy to imagine yourself in a fine dining restaurant in Seoul.
Location: 42 Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Budget: From 20,000+ per person
4. Miso Japanese and Thai Restaurant
Perched on the dentilated rooftop of the Summerset Hotel, Miso is where you bring dates when you want to bring elevated Asian meals and a view. While it’s a Japanese and Thai restaurant, their Korean-style dishes deserve a mention.
The star of the menu is the jjajangmyeon ramen– a soul-satisfying black bean noodle bowl featuring grilled beef, fish balls, crab sticks, vegetables, and a boiled egg. If you want to feel like you’re in a Korean home (especially Kdrama fans), halmeoni is your go-to meal— it means grandmother in Korea. The black bean sauce is rich, earthy, and slightly sweet, coating each chewy noodle strand with flavor.
Add their spicy salmon rolls to the mix, and you’ve got yourself a fire and flavor combo that is unmatched. The salmon hits different, and the sushi rice acts as a nice refresher that delights your taste buds with every bite.
Location: Summerset Continental Hotel, Rooftop, 34 Usuma Street, Maitama, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
Budget: From 20,000+ per person
5. Chopsticks and Bowls
At Chopsticks and Bowls, expect the best of the best experience in a relaxed, no-fuss atmosphere. It has developed quite a reputation as one of the best places to enjoy authentic, hearty Korean food in a short period. From their signature dishes, sushi rolls, and Korean bibimbap to kung pao chicken and yangnyeom chicken, you get to explore Chopsticks and Bowls’ culinary wonders
You must order their bibimbap first; a bowl full of colorful and nourishing rice topped with sautéed veggies, marinated beef, a runny egg, and a generous scoop of gochujang. It’s the full package in a bowl, and there’s something oddly therapeutic about mixing it all together. The flavors are bountiful, well-balanced, and exactly what you need on a sombre day (or any day really).
If you’re not a noodles fan, Chopsticks and Bowls’ chicken ramen noodles will turn you into an addict, instantly. Try the jajangmyeon, the rich black bean flavors will bring you comfort. Or you can pick the japchae stir-fried glass noodles, fresh vegetables, and thinly sliced beef. The gochujang prawn pasta is a delicious fusion twist that combines Korean heat and Italian flair, adding some adventure to your experience
