Popular street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has once again stirred controversy after boldly declaring that his support in the 2027 general elections will go to the highest bidder.
In a viral Instagram video on Thursday, the Zazu Zeh crooner told his fans that politics is about survival, not loyalty. According to him, campaigning without food on the table makes no sense.
“I can’t be campaigning around and be hungry,” Portable said bluntly, insisting that he would back any party or politician willing to “bring money” to support him and his fans.
He also encouraged his followers to prepare ahead of the elections by securing their voter’s cards, stressing that their votes should go to whoever is ready to “help their lives.”
“Election is coming. If APC brings money, I will follow them. If PDP comes first, I will follow them. Even if it is Peter Obi, I will say let’s vote for him. Just bring the money, because people are hungry,” he added.
This is not the first time Portable has made such controversial remarks. In 2024, he accused President Bola Tinubu of “neglecting him” after he campaigned without getting financial reward.
With the 2027 elections still two years away, his comments have already sparked heated debates online about vote-buying and the role of celebrities in politics.
