The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has poured cold water on the chances of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike argued that ADC is not a real coalition but just “a group of people moving from one party to another.”
According to him, a coalition is only formed when strong parties join forces to create a new political party, just like the merger of CPC, ACN and some PDP members that gave birth to APC in 2014.
“There’s no coalition here. What is coalition? When CPC, ACN and PDP members came together to form APC, that was coalition. But what ADC is doing is nothing,” Wike said firmly.
He also pointed to the results of the recent by-elections, stressing that Nigerians are not showing interest in the party.
“From what happened in the by-election, how can you say Nigerians are looking up to them?” he asked.
Wike finally advised Nigerians not to waste their votes on the ADC in 2027, insisting the party has “nothing to show.”
