The U.S. Army community is deeply mourning the loss of 26-year-old Staff Sergeant Christian Isaiah Cypress. The young leader passed away on February 19, leaving behind a profound legacy of dedicated service.
Born in Chester, Virginia, Cypress chose a path of military service early in life. He proudly served as a Communications Non-Commissioned Officer with Fox Company, 97th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne). In this crucial role, he supported vital missions designed to connect the military with civilian communities.
Fellow soldiers remember Cypress as a disciplined, focused, and highly committed professional. Many believed he had a remarkably bright future ahead of him in the Armed Forces. Highlighting his immense potential, he had recently been selected for the prestigious Civil Affairs Qualification Course.
On March 7, family, friends, and fellow service members gathered for a heartfelt Celebration of Life in Chester. He was later laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
Staff Sergeant Cypress will always be remembered for his incredible strength, kindness, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
