President Bola Tinubu has urged working Nigerians to take advantage of the newly launched Personal Income Tax (PIT) calculator to estimate how much they will pay under his administration’s recent tax reforms.
In a post on his official X account, @PBAT, the President explained that the calculator, available at https://fiscalreforms.ng/index.php/pit-calculator/, allows citizens to compare their estimated taxes under the new system with current rates.
This, he said, will help Nigerians understand how the reforms affect individual incomes and ensure transparency in tax obligations.
Tinubu stressed that the reforms, which take effect from January 2026, are designed to establish a fair and equitable tax system.
“A fair tax system must never punish poverty or weigh down the most vulnerable,” he wrote.
The new laws, he added, simplify compliance, protect low-income earners, and promote progressivity, ensuring that wealthier citizens contribute fairly while easing the burden on the less privileged.
The President encouraged Nigerians to engage with the calculator and understand the changes firsthand.
“Together, we are renewing hope in the Nigeria of our dreams. Take a bet on our country.
Bet on Nigeria to work for you, your family, and your community,” he said.
By providing this tool, the government hopes to create a more transparent and citizen-friendly tax system.
Nigerians can now plan their finances better and see for themselves how the reforms are designed to benefit the country while protecting the most vulnerable.
