Nigerian singer Terry Apala has caused a stir online after revealing why he would never allow his partner to attend a public gym.
During a recent interview on Echo Room with reality star Teddy A, the singer, best known for his hit Apala Disco, opened up about his personal experiences with gyms and his concerns about why women go there.
Terry explained that he believes many women visit the gym not for fitness, but to attract attention and create content for social media.
“I will not allow my partner to go to the gym. I’ve been there, I saw what was going down,” he shared. According to him, women often focus more on making videos than actually working out.
He went on to describe how, during his time at iFitness in Victoria Garden City (VGC) and a gym in Megamound Estate, he witnessed women attending gyms with other motives.
“They’re just vibing, they’re not there to actually work out,” Terry said, emphasizing that some women go to the gym to “seduce men,” while some men also attend the gym with the same intent.
Though Terry acknowledged that some women are genuinely focused on fitness, he maintained that many are just there to enjoy the vibe.
His comments have sparked debates among fans, with some supporting his perspective and others questioning whether his views are too protective.
Terry Apala’s statement has definitely left many thinking about gym culture and the reasons people attend. What do you think? Is Terry being too cautious, or does he have a point?
