Former Big Brother Naija star and influencer, Natacha Akide, better known as Tacha, has sparked fresh debate after urging Nigerians to stop directing all their anger at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while ignoring other leaders.
In a viral video posted on Monday, Tacha reminded citizens that governance is not the job of the president alone. She pointed out that governors, senators, and even local government chairmen also receive huge funds and should be held accountable.
She used the example of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), which recently disbursed ₦2.2 trillion to federal, state, and local governments. According to her, some local government chairmen collected as much as ₦44 billion, yet citizens will not question them when nothing is done.
“Money has been given to your state governors, money has been given to your local government chairman, your House of Reps members, your senators. Hold them by their neck, let them deliver,” she said.
Tacha added that Nigerians often focus their criticism on Tinubu and Lagos, which she described as one of the better performing states, while grassroots leaders go unchecked.
She concluded by urging Nigerians to “drag everybody” in leadership, not just the president, if real change must happen.
