Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and ex-lawmaker, Senator Biodun Olujimi, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Tinubu is far different from what it was under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, July 31, 2025, Senator Olujimi explained her reasons for dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joining the APC. She stated that what she saw in the Tinubu-led administration convinced her to switch sides.
“The APC of today is not the same APC I criticised in the past. This government is more pragmatic, more decisive, and bold enough to take difficult decisions and stick with them,” she said.
According to her, one major difference is that Tinubu’s APC does not retreat when faced with public pressure. Instead, it follows through with reforms, no matter how tough. “This government is taking the bull by the horns,” she noted.
Olujimi, who acknowledged the PDP for giving her political recognition, argued that the party had lost its momentum and direction. She added that her grassroots supporters were pleased with her decision to leave the PDP rather than stay and oppose it from within.
