Renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has shared her thoughts on the 2023 presidential election and Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate.
During a recent interview on Channels Television’s Amazing Africans program, Adichie made it clear that while Peter Obi does not need to be Nigeria’s president, he desires the position because of his deep care for the nation.
Adichie explained that Obi’s motivations are rooted in a genuine desire to serve the country, contrasting him with other political figures who seek power out of personal ego.
“Peter Obi doesn’t need to be president. He wants to be because he cares about Nigeria,” she emphasized, highlighting Obi’s humble and consistent nature despite facing criticism and the outcome of the 2023 elections.
