The communities of Perry- Lecompton and Lawrence were grieved when the heard the tragic news about the death of Rian Carlsten, his death left his colleagues, tutors and community in unbelief
He was a native of Lawrence community at Kansas, and died at the age of 17 on a Wednesday. The school authorities announced that his death came as a shock, and the moment was described as “grieving and indescribable” to everyone who knew him. Friends shared memories of how they saw him in the hallways earlier that week, making people smile, cracking jokes and welcoming people.
Rian was remembered for his act of kindness, gentle spirit and the way he made people feel welcome. A classmate testified of how Rian had the habit of giving a thumb up to anyone who looked tired, those little gesture from Rian made her day lighter
His family who are totally committed in the community of Perry-Lecompton were consoled by loved ones. He left his two younger brothers who admired him.
The neighborhood offered prayers, contribution and support as the family prepared to make burial arrangements. Many said that will continue Rian’s legacy that was built on love for others.
