An Operative of the Nigeria National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), identified as Mr. Jide, has been fatally shot during a sting operation in Ondo.
The incident happened on Tuesday, the 22nd of July, 2025. Per multiple reports, the incident happened at an apartment in the Ita’nla area of Ondo town, Ondo, Nigeria. The NDLEA was acting on intelligence knowledge of hidden narcotics in the residence.
Jide was reportedly guarding the area while his team searched the building during the raid. Report explains that he was shot in the neck by drug traffickers.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital; however, he was pronounced dead. Authorities have made an arrest and apprehended four suspects with investigations are still ongoing.
The NDLEA community is currently mourning the loss of a dedicated officer.
