The people of Columbus are very sad after Trevon “Chubbs Longliveqb” Durham died. Trevon was a young man known for his big smile and how he made people feel welcome.
He was shot on Monday evening while shopping at a store on South Hamilton Road. Police came at about 7:50 p.m. They found Trevon inside Wildman’s Leather-N-Lace with gunshot wounds. Even with quick help from emergencies, Trevon was declared dead at 8:01 p.m. One person was caught in connection with the shooting.
Friends say Trevon made people feel better with little things. He told jokes at the gas station and gave rides home to friends who needed help. One friend said, “He had this warm laugh you could hear from across the room.”
Neighbors who are very sad are sharing memories online. They remember Trevon’s favorite chain and how he always said goodbye with “Stay safe, I love y’all.”
His sudden death has deeply hurt the community. Trevon is remembered as a loyal friend and bright person. His kindness touched everyone around him.
