Todd Meneely, a famous wrestling champion and mentor, has died at age 42. He passed away following a car crash in Omaha, Nebraska. The accident happened Sunday afternoon near Meadow Drive and 91st Avenue.
Todd’s Jeep left the road and hit a light pole and a tree. He died at the hospital the next day.
Todd was a legendary athlete. He won three national titles at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 2009, he was named Wrestler of the Year.
He also attended Skutt Catholic High School.
Friends remember Todd as a devoted father and patient coach. He often stayed late to help young wrestlers. People say he lived with honesty and heart.
He was a role model for many across the state. His community will miss his bright spirit and leadership.
