The Baton Rouge community is very sad after the death of Woodrow Vaughn, who was 73 years old. Woodrow was reported missing on November 21. His family stayed hopeful, but on November 24, police found him dead inside a vehicle on Lafitte Drive.
His death is now being treated as a homicide. Woodrow’s family says he was a man who never hurried in life. He noticed small things, remembered birthdays, and always asked how you were really doing. Neighbors remember him walking slowly in the mornings, waving warmly, and checking on elderly neighbors without being asked.
His loved ones say what hurts most is how suddenly and violently he was taken. But they choose to remember his kindness, soft voice, and steady presence, which made everyone feel safe.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation goes on.
Woodrow Vaughn leaves behind a legacy of warmth and quiet strength. His family will hold onto simple memories—his jokes, patience, and love—to help them through the days ahead.
