A 62-year-old man who shared peaceful hiking videos online is now facing shocking murder charges in Spain. Police arrested José Jurado Montilla, known online as “El Titi,” after using his own social media posts to connect him to two killings.
In his videos, Montilla spoke calmly about his outdoor trips and claimed he was innocent of past crimes. However, investigators say his content slowly revealed troubling details.
In 2022, a 21-year-old student named David vanished after meeting Montilla. Before disappearing, David warned his father that the man seemed very shady. Police later found David’s body and linked his death to Montilla using DNA evidence.
A year later, 42-year-old Esther Estepa went missing during a coastal hike. Montilla had been in contact with her. He later posted videos retracing her exact steps and even reached out to her worried family. In 2024, investigators found Estepa’s remains along with strong evidence tying Montilla to her death.
Montilla is currently in custody and denies all charges. Authorities believe his online life ultimately revealed much more than he ever intended.
