The Les Cotils community experienced a wave of grief when they heard about the sudden death of Julia Gail Zabiela, who was just 59 years old.
Her tender spirit and consistent kindness impacted the lives of everyone who crossed her path. She died peacefully on the 26th of November after she had been ill for a short period of time. This made her relatives heartbroken, but they were also relieved by the legacy she left behind, filled with love.
Her relatives and peers testified that she had a quiet manner of transforming people’s lives. Julia was remembered for pausing whatever she was doing just to be attentive to what people were saying, even if it meant letting her tea get cold.
Her house was always welcoming, often skilled with gentle laughter and the fragrance of her favourite vanilla candles. People around her testified to the fact that she could remember the smallest information about people, like birthdays, favorite playlists, and even the way they love their coffee.
The deceased was a loyal wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, and friend. Her family said she was surrounded by patience wherever she went, offering calm advice and consistent encouragement. Residents remembered how she followed up on elderly residents every week, bringing a small treat or handwritten notes.
Tributes were made while many shared memories of her act of kindness and light. A burial service will be held on the 22nd of December, where her community will assemble to honour Julia and the love she showed freely.
