Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has travelled to the United States to attend the wedding of his nephew, popular Nigerian singer Davido.
The white wedding is set to take place in Miami this August.
The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the trip, stating it is a private family visit. Adeleke left Nigeria a few days ago using the family’s private jet.
Davido had earlier announced that he and his partner, Chioma Rowland, would be having a grand wedding this year. The event is expected to be star-studded and glamorous.
While some opposition voices in Osun have raised concerns about the governor’s absence, Rasheed explained that Adeleke remains fully in charge.
He is in constant touch with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is overseeing the state’s affairs.
Governor Adeleke, known for his lively nature and dance moves, has not taken any official vacation since he assumed office in November 2022.
