The community of Anderson is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of 85-year-old Floyd Eugene Landers. On Monday evening, he passed away following a serious two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sayre Street and South Murray Avenue.
Around 6:15 p.m., Floyd was driving through the intersection when his car was struck from the side by another vehicle. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to provide life-saving help. Even though he was wearing his seatbelt, he suffered severe blunt chest trauma from the heavy impact.
Paramedics quickly transported him to AnMed Health Medical Center. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the doctors and medical staff, he passed away from his injuries.
Neighbors will always remember Floyd as a familiar face with a quiet nature and a steady, comforting presence in the community. Friends and loved ones are now coming together to share prayers and support for his grieving family during this very difficult time.
