The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has condemned the actions of a former driver, Olakunle Alex Folarin, who impersonated an EFCC officer on a popular dating program, Lege Miami.
Folarin, who worked at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was recently fired after it was discovered that he had forged his academic certificates.
Despite his dismissal, Folarin kept several EFCC properties, including an official identity card, which he was supposed to return.
The EFCC acted quickly, with its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, ordering Folarin’s arrest. The commission is determined to recover the items and address the breach of protocol.
EFCC officials emphasized that Folarin’s behavior is not a reflection of the agency’s integrity or values.
In a public statement, the EFCC urged Nigerians not to associate Folarin’s misleading actions with the organization.
The commission made it clear that his post-dismissal conduct does not represent the EFCC in any way.
The public is urged to stay vigilant and avoid any false representations of government agencies online. Folarin’s case serves as a reminder to always verify credentials and avoid falling for online deception.
