
The Federal government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, the 15th of July, a public holiday to honour the life of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the incumbent government of Nigeria, the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the 15th of July as a day to remember Buhari’s legacy. He made this announcement on Monday, the 14th of July, 2025.
Per this announcement, Tinubu described Buhari as a man who worked tirelessly for Nigeria’s Unity and growth. The president further urged everyone to stay at home to reflect on core ways to promote and maintain peace and patriotism.
National flags will fly at half-mast for seven days.
