1. Zillion restaurant and catering
Who else thought zillion was a real number while growing up? Well, even if we know now that it isn’t a particular number, we know a restaurant named Zillion will deliver! The best part is they don’t just carry a big name, they have big doings. They exist to satisfy their customers.
It is a dining option that is open to locals and tourists, as it offers options from local dishes to international cuisine. Although they specialize in local cuisine, they have provisions for other options for tourists who don’t want to have a taste of Akwa Ibom food. No staleness lives here; every meal is prepared with fresh ingredients from the market. From seafood to soups and rich meats, you’ll pretty much have all of your cravings catered for. If you’re there to unwind, there’s a provision of drinks and beverages to go along with your food, from local drinks to wines.
The edifice shines light on the Akwa Ibom cultural heritage. You don’t go there just to eat; you also enjoy the ambience of culture in a modern setting. In essence, you feed your eyes and your appetite. It is open to all ages, so you can go there solo, with friends, family, and loved ones. It’s also a beautiful spot for celebrations, plus you can bring them to your celebration to cater.
To crown it is their staff. If you’ve ever been to a restaurant with nasty staff (I’ve been), you’ll understand that you can eat the best food and promise to never go back. Not here. The staff are warm, they make you feel valued, and they cater to your needs delightfully. This is one place to stop by in Eket. You can walk in anytime from 9AM to 10 PM. They also offer delivery service.

2. Fraiche restaurant
We should agree that French is a favourite Nigerian international language. We slip it into sentences to say, “Hey, I did some French in school.” Fun fact: it has French roots. It began in 2021 as a small Bistro in Paris, and it has kept on growing since then.
They’re not here to play at Fraîche restaurant. They say it’s a fresh palace where every bite tells a story. Don’t we all love that? They offer a memorable dining experience with a mix of traditional and modern cuisine. A come one, come all kinda restaurant. À la carte ready in 15 minutes! No extra-long waiting time. Also very pocket-friendly, even for the class it delivers.
Chef Ufot is a believer in farm-to-table dining, which is why he promises freshness. All the mouth-watering, memory-bringing meals are made with fresh ingredients by staff who serve customers with so much warmth. You don’t want to miss out on the rich atmosphere. It is open from 8:00 AM.

3. Le’goshen African Dishes Restaurant
Remember what I said about Nigerians and the French? Not to bore you with Biblical history, but Goshen is a land of provision and separation. This means Le’Goshen promises that even if all the restaurants in the city are mid, they’re separate. Never mind that they serve only African cuisine, “Le” is for rich emphasis.
You can choose to eat in, take out, or order. They offer good food and an exotic winery in a tastefully artistic environment. It is a group-friendly restaurant perfect for hangouts and casual meetings. Their bar makes them a notch different from other restaurants. Another perk is their timing. They open as early as 7:30 AM, before the morning rush hour, which affords you the opportunity for an early breakfast before work.
Location: No. 288, Oron Rd, Opp. Nesman Filling Station, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State

4. Tilapia and Tinz African signature restaurant
You want to bam ba? You want to chill with the big boys. You don’t have to run kitititi when you can chill at Tilapia and Tinz. The Ameno Amapiano remix that trended in 2021 was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the ambience and food.
Seafood lovers, step forward, please. Others don’t necessarily have to fall back; just hang around. You can share the word with your friends and family, you don’t like fish, but at least you’re not selfish. There’s a special non-fish provision for you, too. That’s a win. At Tilapia and Tinz, they specialize in seafood (fresh from the sea) and everything that goes with it.
Located in a serene environment in Uyo, they offer a wide range of seafood options. The sauces offer various kinds of fish, including chicken in curry sauce for non-seafood lovers (remember I said there’s a place for you?). On to the fried options that include octopus, prawn, snails, chicken, and others. There’s also the platters that include assorted proteins (including steak options), one is even called Dorime, I saw it coming! There’s barbeque and grill, pepper soups, peppered sauces, salad, and some extras that include the famed Nigerian smoky party jollof, swallows and soup, and of course, small chops. I went through this minimal listing to show there’s more than seafood.
They have a decade to prove their expertise. A nourishing place to spend your money. You have to taste and see. There’s also a website for you to feed your eyes and imagination as you order. Taste and see. They’re open from 11 AM-11 PM daily.

Tired of your regular? This isn’t your regular Naija food spot. Take the out back literally. Sometimes, we get tired of doors and walls; there are no inhibitions here. Great food, very scenic, satisfying, and served by courteous waiters.
They specialize in grills, barbecues, and spicy sauces. A burst of good food, connection, good music, rich decor, and excellent service. A perfect place to bond with friends and family. Oh! You don’t have to bother about the sun; there are canopies for shade. Sun or Moon, you’re protected.
This is a very fun place to be. They have fun outdoor drinking games, snooker, sip and paint services, alongside the food service. An excellent socialisation spot.
