The people of Thomasville are very sad after the death of 61-year-old Jesse Floyd Jackson, who many say was the quiet backbone of his family, church, and community.
Jesse died peacefully on December 8, 2025, at University Hospital in Mobile. His family says his final days were calm and dignified, just like the way he lived his life.
Friends remember the small things that showed who he was—how he always came early to help at church and how he listened more than he spoke. His gentle laugh was something he saved for the people he loved most.
Jesse worked much of his life as a crane operator. Coworkers say he earned respect not through a title, but through the way he treated others. One colleague said, “If Jesse said he’d be there, he was there.”
At home, he was a loving husband, proud father of four daughters, and a grandfather who never missed a chance to make a child smile. His family says he taught by example, showing the importance of honesty, hard work, and kindness.
A visitation will be held on December 13 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service for family, friends, and the community. His memory lives on in the people he helped, the faith he practiced, and the quiet strength he shared so freely.
